    The Australian Neuroscience Society was founded in 1971 as an informal collection of interested Australian neuroscientists. They are a non-profit organisation of scientists and physicians who study the brain and nervous system and are actively involved in research and teaching. The ANS anticipate this being one of the largest annual meetings ever, with outstanding speakers, many symposia, oral communications and posters that will reflect the cutting edge of neuroscience in Australia and overseas.

    The 10th Asia-Pacific Microscopy Conference (APMC-10) is certainly a unique conference as it has forged partnerships with the International Conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICONN 2012) and the 22nd Australian Conference on Microscopy and Microanalysis (ACMM-22). Having the three conferences concurrently will provide a more diverse scientific programme for the delegates. It will also provide an avenue for wider interactions amongst the delegates from the various disciplines. The Conference will include Short Courses, Workshops and a concurrent major Equipment Exhibition, at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. The combined event will be the largest microscopy and nanotechnology-related event in Australia's history. Over 2,000 delegates from more than 30 nations are expected to provide a unique and exciting forum.

    The Biophysical Society was founded in 1957 to encourage development and dissemination of knowledge in biophysics. Each year, the Annual Meeting brings together over 6,000 research scientists in the multidisciplinary fields representing biophysics. With more than 4,000 poster presentations, over 200 exhibits, and more than 20 symposia, the Annual Meeting is the largest meeting of biophysicists in the world. Despite its size, the meeting retains its small-meeting flavour through its subgroup meetings, platform sessions, social activities, and committee programs.

    This conference is the flagship event for 2012 and provides a unique forum that brings together a wide cross-section of the scientific community as the highlight conference of the European Cell and Developmental Biology year.

    The 2012 Spring Conference is expected to attract 400 delegates, many of whom will be budget holding principal investigators, and we anticipate the participation of many leading suppliers as exhibitors and sponsors.

    The Japanese Society for the Developmental Biologists and the British Societies for Cell Biology and Development Biology are long established Learned Societies in their respective fields. Together they have in excess of 3,500 active members in the UK, Japan and throughout the world.

    The meeting features a series of plenary and parallel sessions, with an outstanding line up of speakers from around the world. There are three highlight prize lectures –the Hooke Medal Lecture (BSCB), Waddington Medal Lecture (BSDB and the Beddington prize lecture (best PhD student) as well as poster sessions and social events.
