iXonEM Blue EMCCD Camera

Presenting the latest addition to Andor’s award-winning performance EMCCD range, offering > 20% extra response in the blue

iXonEM Blue represents the new benchmark for ultrasensitive imaging of blue photons. Compared to the ‘standard’ back-illuminated EMCCD, iXonEM Blue offers enhanced QE between 300nm to 470nm.

Until now, back-illuminated EMCCD cameras have been made widely available only with a ‘mid-band’ anti-reflection (AR) coating, which results in a Quantum Efficiency curve that is optimized for the green/red wavelength range. However, some applications specifically require superior sensitivity performance in the wavelength region below 450nm for which iXonEM Blue is specifically optimized. Whether you are probing ultracool calcium ions or imaging blue emitting fluorophores under conditions of reduced phototoxicity, iXonEM Blue provides a valuable sensitivity boost.
