The Newton camera is ideally suited to high performance spectroscopic applications. The high resolution spectroscopic sensor combined with Andor Technology’s low noise electronics, delivers up to 95% QE with both multi-Megahertz readout and USB connectivity. The dual output amplifier allow software selection of either high sensitivity or high capacity modes of operation so that you can optimize the sensitivity and dynamic range of capacity the camera to suit the operating conditions encountered. The camera utilizes a 2048 x 512 array of 13.5μm² pixels with thermoelectric cooling down to -100°C resulting in negligible dark current.

Based on a Horizontal Pixel Readout of 100KHz and a vertical pixel shift of 13μS. Vertical speeds are software selectable. All sensors are guaranteed to operate at 13μs vertical pixel shift and most can be clocked faster. At these faster speeds there may be some degradation of Charge Transfer Efficiency (C.T.E.). FVB is short for Full Vertical Binning (Binning is a process that allows charge from two or more pixels to be combined on the EMCCD-chip prior to readout).
