Imaris - Real-time Volume Rendering for Life Sciences

Cutting-Edge 3D and 4D Imaging Software for Life Sciences

Andor is proud to announce the recent acquisition of Bitplane, the leaders in volume rendering, visualization and data analysis software. The Imaris product line offers the most powerful and versatile 3D and 4D imaging analysis software solution on the market for researchers in life sciences, medicine and related fields. Eight unique modules can be individually combined to perfectly match the researcher’s imaging needs. From visualization and analysis to publication, Imaris provides the most user friendly, accurate and integrated solution when only excellence will do.

The Imaris core software module delivers all the necessary functionality for visualization, segmentation and interpretation of 3D and 4D microscopy datasets. Combining speed, precision and ease-of-use, Imaris provides a complete set of features for working with three- and four-dimensional multi-channel images of any size, from a few megabytes to multiple gigabytes in size. Conveniently load, process and visualize images acquired from almost any confocal and wide field microscope, including from Andor’s Revolution live cell microscopy systems live cell microscopy systems, to gain new and groundbreaking insight from your image data.

Up to eight additional modules may be integrated with the core Imaris to enable specific user functionality:

  • Imaris MeasurementPro enables researchers to extract critical statistical parameters from their microscopy images thus allowing for the quantification of scientific findings.
  • ImarisTrack is the most powerful commercially available tracking program that rises to the challenge of monitoring temporal changes in biological systems (2D and 3D images over time).
  • Imaris Coloc has been designed to give researchers the most powerful tool to quantify and document co-distribution of multiple stained biological components.
  • Imaris FilamentTracer is the most advanced software product for the automatic detection of neurons (dendritic trees, axons and spines), microtubules, and other filament like structures in 2D and 3D.
  • ImarisCell is an Imaris module specifically designed for the analysis of 2D, 3D, and 4D images of cells and their components.
  • Imaris Batch is an Imaris subsystem for the processing of 2D, 3D, and 4D image series in batch. This subsystem saves valuable time when running repetitive jobs because processing can be queued and completed without interaction from the user.
  • ImarisXT acts as a two-way interface between Imaris and classic programming languages, (e.g. C++ and Matlab). It allows rapid development and integration of custom algorithms that are specific and tailored to scientific applications where generic image processing would fail.
  • Imaris InPress provides the tool to place labels on structures in 3D to enhance presentations and publications effectively.
  • AutoDeblur Deconvolution Software offers the most complete suite of 2D and 3D algorithms available, including the industry’s only "Blind Deconvolution" algorithm. AutoDeblur delivers superior precision and accuracy while preserving data integrity

Since its launch in 1993, Imaris has been installed at hundreds of leading sites throughout Europe, America, and Asia. Imaris has been chosen as the premier tool for image visualization and analysis by individual investigators and core facility managers.
