The Andor Software Development Kit (SDK) gives the programmer access to the Andor range of CCD and Intensified CCD cameras. The key part of the SDK is the dynamic link library which can be used with a wide variety of programming environments including C, C++, C#, Visual Basic and LabVIEW. The library is compatible with Windows 2000, XP and Vista. A Linux version of the SDK is also available. Currently Andor provides both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the SDK.
The SDK provides a suite of functions that allow you to configure the data acquisition process in a number of different ways. There are also functions to control the CCD temperature and shutter operations. The driver will automatically handle its own internal memory requirements.
To use the SDK effectively the user must develop a software package to configure the acquisition, provide memory management, process the data and create the software interfaces.Andor also provides an SDK for the Linux operating system.
Andor has worked with several 3rd party imaging software companies to include support for the Andor range of cameras. For more information visit the 3rd party support section.
